At 1260mm there is room for a mirror at one end, a lamp at the other and everything in between. The depth is the number that makes it work in a small room: 450mm sits tight to the wall and gives back the floor a deeper table takes. The top is 760mm from the ground — desk height, not counter height — so an ordinary dining chair, which usually sits around 450mm, is the right thing to pull up to it.
