The Eton Rope Bench, which you can ask about at our showroom in Ballincollig, answers it with its size: 110cm long, 43.5cm deep and 45cm high, with no back. It seats two, and between meals it sits against a wall or in along the table, taking up no more floor than its own footprint.

In a smaller home, that’s the case for a bench: two places with no chair backs breaking up the room, and a seat in the hall for pulling boots on when it isn’t needed at the table.

How big it is

Dimension

mm

cm

Length

1,100

110

Depth

435

43.5

Seat height

450

45

Seat depth

350

35

What rope feels like

Rope feels different from timber or upholstery: a little give, a little texture. That’s normal; it’s the weave settling. Because it’s made by hand, the colour of the rope may differ a touch from the photographs.
