It measures 850mm wide, 520mm deep and 1,780mm high once it is built. It belongs to the range at our Ballincollig showroom, where the floor is rearranged constantly. That is one person’s hanging clothes — a spare room, a box room, a teenager’s room, or a second wardrobe for whichever half of a couple has run out of rail. It is not a main wardrobe for two adults, and we would rather say so now. The 500mm internal depth is the useful part: a standard hanger is around 430 to 450mm across, so shoulders sit square rather than pressing on the door. At 1,780mm it is also the shortest wardrobe here, which matters under a low ceiling.

Chosen by Paul

Paul says: “There’s a shelf near the top with 310mm under it, so the rail sits lower than people expect — about 1,270mm of drop. Once it is built you have to stand it up, and tilting a 1,780mm carcass upright needs about 1,855mm of clear height.
