The finish is natural, light and open-grained. It arrives in one box at 14kg and the legs fit on, with 35cm of clearance underneath. At 55cm it sits just above most sofa arms. The drawer is what makes it earn its place when people come over: coasters, the corkscrew and the remote go in, and the top is clear for the glass and the lamp.

Measure first

A drawer needs room to pull out, so allow 30cm or so in front of it. Beside a sofa that means the drawer faces the room, not the arm. Check the sofa arm too: most sit around 45 to 50cm, so at 55cm the Malvern stands just above, a comfortable height for a lamp. The 40cm depth is slimmer than most side tables, which is useful in a narrow room.

Dimensions

Dimension

mm

cm

Width

450

45

Depth

400

40

Height

550

55

Clearance to floor

350

35

Is it solid oak?

Oak solids and oak veneers over MDF, with rubberwood in the frame.
