The Malvern is plain oak, rectangular, and meant to look like furniture rather than an accessory. That's its whole appeal.

The Malvern nest is two rectangular tables in solid oak and oak veneers with a natural finish, the larger 45cm wide, 35cm deep and 50cm high, with 47.2cm clear beneath; the smaller slides under it. Together they sit at the end of a sofa as one; apart, they're the two side tables you're short of when four more people arrive than you have tables for. 10kg the pair, legs and feet to fit.

Is 50cm high enough for the sofa arm?

For most sofas, yes.
