At 830mm to the top of the headboard it sits below most window sills and goes under a sloped attic ceiling that a tall board would foul. The catch is the footprint. The king is 2200mm from head to foot, so in a bedroom under three metres deep it takes nearly all the floor and you end up sidling past the end of it. The double, at 1920mm, is far easier to place.
