It needs 1300mm of unbroken wall — no radiator, no socket you still want to reach, no door swinging into it — and in return it gives you a long, low surface at 885mm, which is about worktop height. That is a good height to stand a mirror above or a lamp at either end. It is honestly not only a bedroom piece: at this shape it works down the length of a hall or along a living room wall, taking the things a hall table has no room for.
