The Mulberry House Bed Collection is the base, the headboard and the legs — made in Ireland for us, in your size, your fabric and your colour, to carry a Mulberry mattress for the next twenty years.

Everything here is made to order, and the showroom in Ballincollig is where you sit on it, open it and lean back against it before you decide. We move the floor around constantly, so tell us what you want to try and we will have it up for you.

How a Mulberry bed goes together

1. Choose the base. A standard divan (platform or sprung top), an ottoman that opens for storage, or a leg divan that stands clear of the floor. 2. Choose the headboard — ten shapes, strutted 24″ or floor-standing 55″. 3. Choose the fabric and colour — base and headboard are upholstered to match, from the swatch board in the showroom. 4. Choose the feet — legs on the leg divans; gliders or castors on the rest. Then put a Mulberry mattress on top.

Divan bases

Built on a solid timber frame from FSC-certified Scandinavian wood, upholstered all round, and made to the size you need — 3′ single to 6′ super king. The standard divan is the quiet workhorse; the ottoman is the one that tidies the room.

Leg divans

The same frame, standing on legs instead of a plinth — lighter to look at, easier to clean under, and the bed most people picture when they think of a modern bedroom. Seven leg styles, three heights.

Headboards

Ten shapes, from the plain and graceful to the tall and winged. Strutted 24″ headboards bolt to the base and sit behind the pillows; floor-standing 55″ headboards reach the floor and make the bed the centre of the room. Every one is upholstered to match your base.

Fabrics and colours

Base and headboard are made to order in the fabric and colour you choose, so the bed matches the room rather than the other way round. The swatch board in the showroom has the full range — textured weaves in the greys and stones, soft velvets in the deeper colours, and the linens and naturals that go with everything. Bring a cushion or a paint chip; we’ll put the swatches beside it.

Feet, gliders and castors

Leg divans come on the legs you choose above. Standard and ottoman divans sit on gliders — fixed feet, so the bed stays put — or castors, wheels that let you pull the bed out to make it or clean behind it. Tell us which when you order, and tell us whether your floor is timber, tile or carpet, because it changes the answer.

Guest bed

A single bed with a second bed underneath that pulls out and rises to the same height — a spare room that sleeps two without looking like it. Upholstered to match, in 3′, 4′ and 4′6″.

Lie before you buy

The body knows. A bed is a base, a headboard and a mattress working together, and you can only judge the three of them together — so lie before you buy, at Mulberry House, Ballincollig. It isn’t a test; it’s an understanding. We are at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork (P31 W968), Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm (closed Sundays), no appointment needed, and nobody will hurry you. Call (021) 601 5002 if you would like to check something first. Made to order, delivered, guaranteed

Every base and headboard is made in Ireland to your order — allow around four weeks — and delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom at no charge. We confirm your date before you pay. Bases and headboards carry a two-year manufacturer-assured guarantee against manufacturing faults; the mattress you put on top carries its own.
