Refund policy

MULBERRY HOUSE  |  RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY

Effective: April 2026

This policy covers both online and in-store purchases. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law.

 

1. Your Statutory Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, goods must be:

      Of satisfactory quality - durable, safe, fit for purpose, and free from defects;

      As described - matching the description, samples, or models shown;

      Fit for purpose - suitable for any specific purpose you made known to us before purchase.

If goods do not meet these requirements, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or full refund - regardless of whether the purchase was made online or in store.

2. Online Purchases - 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from any online order within 14 calendar days of receiving your goods, without giving any reason.

How to exercise your right of withdrawal:

1.   Notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery: email info@mulberryhouse.ie with your order number and a clear statement of your intention to cancel.

2.   You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

3.   Goods must be in their original, unassembled condition and in original, undamaged packaging.

4.   We will issue a full refund, within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

 

 

The cost of returning goods under the withdrawal right is at your expense unless the goods are faulty, damaged in transit, or do not match their description.

3. In-Store Purchases - Voluntary Returns

The 14-day statutory withdrawal right does not apply to in-store purchases. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we offer the following voluntary returns policy, subject to the conditions below:

      We will accept returns of standard in-stock items within 14 days of purchase for a full refund or exchange.

      Items must be unused, unassembled, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

      Items must be returned to our showroom or collected by our team (collection charge applies).

      Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Cash refunds are not available for card purchases.

This voluntary policy does not affect your statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods.

4. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrectly Described Goods

Delivery damage

Note on the delivery docket at the time of receipt and contact us within 48 hours with photographs of both the product and packaging.

Hidden defects

Report as soon as you discover the fault. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, you may be entitled to a free repair or replacement, and if that is not possible, a price reduction or full refund.

Missing parts

Contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the missing components. We will dispatch replacement parts at no charge.

5. Items Not Eligible for Return

The following items cannot be returned under our voluntary policy (your statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods still apply):

      Custom-made and made-to-order items - furniture made to your specifications, bespoke upholstery, or non-standard size, colour, or fabric.

      Mattresses, duvets, and pillows - once the hygiene seal or original packaging has been opened, for hygiene reasons.

      Ex-display and sold-as-seen items - sold with visible defects disclosed at time of purchase, clearly marked at point of sale.

      Gift cards - non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

      Items damaged through misuse, self-assembly errors, or normal wear and tear after delivery.

      Special order rugs and soft furnishings - clearly indicated on the product page at time of purchase.

6. How to Make a Return

5.   Email info@mulberryhouse.ie with your name, order number, item(s) to return, and reason for return.

6.   We will respond within 2 working days with return instructions.

7.   For small items: pack securely in original packaging and return via a tracked service. Retain proof of postage.

8.   For large furniture: we will arrange a collection appointment. Collection charges apply unless the return is due to a fault or error on our part.

9.   Label all returned items clearly with your name and order number.

7. Refund Timelines

      Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving returned goods (or proof of return postage, whichever is earlier).

      Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at purchase.

      Where goods are returned damaged beyond reasonable inspection, we reserve the right to deduct the reduction in value from your refund.

      Statutory refunds for faulty goods are issued in full, including delivery charges paid.

 

 

You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed. Please allow 3-5 business days for the amount to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.
