The Mulberry MattressSleep Better, Dream Better

Mulberry Cocoon mattress — medium — Mulberry House Ballincollig

The story of the Mulberry Mattress Collection: how the comfort scale works, five mattresses, what a full bed costs and how you can always dream better.

The Bedroom Event · 12 September – 11 November 20% off every Mulberry mattress and 10% off all beds and all bedroom furniture, online and in the showroom.

Chapter One

Why we made our own mattresses

The showroom taught us something the brochures never mention: nobody actually just wants “a new mattress”.

They want to stop waking at 3am.

They want the guest room to stop being an apology.

They want the bed they had in that hotel.

So Paul had five mattresses built in Ireland, to our own specification, for the ways our customers actually sleep — and you’ll only find them at Mulberry House.

Every one of them is ready to try at the showroom at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm (closed Sundays).

"Lie before you buy."

Keep that in mind as you read — everything below can be lain on this afternoon, and in your home in weeks, not months.

Made in Ireland by the best. To our own specifications — and now in Ballincollig for you to try before you buy.

Chapter Two

The comfort scale — three honest steps

We don’t do firmness numbers out of ten. Bodies don’t read spec sheets. There are three steps, and where you land on them is personal:

Softer

Estate

You sink in and stay. Side sleepers, main bedrooms, old school deeper softer feel.

Medium

Pause · Lull · Cocoon

Where most people live — and three different beds: the Pause floats, the Lull holds, the Cocoon breathes.

Firmer

Drift

Flat, straight, held from underneath. On the bed, not in it.

Prefer to answer a few questions and be pointed at one? Find your Mulberry does exactly that. Otherwise — meet all five here below.

Chapter Three

The five, reviewed honestly

Mulberry Estate mattress — Mulberry House Ballincollig

Softer · medium-soft

Mulberry Estate

The deep one, the softer touch. Your forever mattress — it’s a keeper.

This is the deep one — 31.5cm of it. Six thousand springs, then wool, denim and natural latex, hand-tufted into a woven damask cover. You sink in, and then, just when you expect to keep sinking, it holds you. Side sleepers tend not to get up again in a hurry.

It’s the mattress for the main bedroom and the “we’re not doing this again for twenty years” purchase — and it starts at 4′6″, because nobody buys an Estate for the box room.

Honestly: If you prefer to lie on top of a firm, flat surface, this isn’t yours — slip on by to the Drift.

4′6″ Double €1,918.08 €2,397.605′ King €2,112 €2,6406′ Super King €2,592 €3,2406′ Zip-Link €2,660 €3,325

Mulberry Pause mattress — Mulberry House Ballincollig

Medium · pillow top

Mulberry Pause

The hotel bed you didn’t want to leave — at home.

Everyone has had the hotel night that made their own bed feel like a plank. The Pause is that night, made repeatable: a stitched pillow top floating on a thousand pocket springs, so you settle into the bed rather than lie on it. It’s the softest-feeling of our three mediums, the one for the guest room that actually gets used — and at €639.36 €799.20 for a single, the gentlest way into the collection.

Honestly: If you want to feel held firmly from underneath, the Drift will suit you better.

3′ Single €639.36 €799.204′6″ Double €716.16 €895.205′ King €762.24 €952.806′ Super King €975.36 €1,219.206′ Zip-Link €1,039.36 €1,299.20

Mulberry Lull mattress — Mulberry House Ballincollig

Medium · foam-encased

Mulberry Lull

Sink in a little, then feel the bed hold you.

The diplomat of the collection. One of you wants softer, one of you wants firmer — the Lull gives on the surface and holds underneath, which is where most couples end up shaking hands.

Every spring is individually pocketed, so nobody feels anybody turn.

And because the spring unit is fully encased in foam, the edge of the bed is as supportive as the middle: you can sleep right to the border, or sit on it to put your socks on, without the roll-off.

Honestly: Sleep hot? Look at the Cocoon next — its natural fillings run cooler.

3′ Single €706.56 €883.204′6″ Double €867.84 €1,084.805′ King €963.84 €1,204.806′ Super King €1,251.84 €1,564.806′ Zip-Link €1,315.84 €1,644.80

Mulberry Cocoon mattress — Mulberry House Ballincollig

Medium · natural fillings

Mulberry Cocoon

Wool, silk and cashmere. A cool head in summer, a warm bed in winter.

Built the way mattresses used to be — hand-tufted, wool pom-poms holding the layers in place — for the person who wakes warm at 3am, or who would simply rather sleep on wool and latex than on foam.

Three thousand springs in two layers contour to your shape, while the natural fillings breathe: cooler on a warm night, warmer on a cold one.

Honestly: If you want a firmer, flatter surface, keep scrolling to the Drift.

3′ Single €600.96 €751.204′6″ Double €787.20 €9845′ King €877.44 €1,096.806′ Super King €1,123.20 €1,4046′ Zip-Link €1,187.20 €1,484

Mulberry Drift mattress — Mulberry House Ballincollig

Firmer · firm

Mulberry Drift

Firm and straight — for people who like to lie on a bed, not in it.

Built for the person who has always wanted a firm bed and kept being sold a medium one.

A heavy-gauge open-coil unit in the traditional orthopaedic style, reinforced to the edges, so the side of the bed is as firm as the middle.

Nothing sinks, nothing rolls.

Back and front sleepers, anyone carrying a bit more weight, anyone told to “get something firmer” — this is the one they’re describing.

It’s also double-sided: flip it as well as rotate it, and it repays you for years.

Honestly: Side sleeper who likes give at the shoulder and hip? The Lull is the kinder choice. This is for the hard core people. This is firm maxxing.

3′ Single €591.36 €739.204′6″ Double €756.48 €945.605′ King €846.72 €1,058.406′ Super King €1,069.44 €1,336.806′ Zip-Link €1,133.44 €1,416.80

All five together, with photos and every size: the Mattress Collection. Every mattress is made to order in Ireland in around four weeks, and every price includes VAT.

Interlude

Lie before you buy

The body knows. You can’t choose a mattress from a photograph, and you can’t choose one from this page either — so lie before you buy, at Mulberry House, Ballincollig. It isn’t a test; it’s an understanding.

All five are on the floor at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork (P31 W968), Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm (closed Sundays) — or call (021) 601 5002. Take your shoes off, stay as long as you like, bring whoever you share the bed with. No appointment, and nobody will hurry you. We will answer all your questions for all and any needs.

Chapter Four

Now build the bed under it

A mattress is half a bed. The other half is made in Ireland too, in your size, your fabric and your colour — and every piece prices simply, so the sum is never a mystery:

  • The base. A standard divan with a platform top (from €265.50 €295) or a sprung top (from €315 €350); an ottoman that opens for storage, half-opening (from €387 €430) or the full-opening kind that swallows a spare duvet wardrobe whole (from €580.50 €645); or a leg divan that stands clear of the floor (from €265.50 €295).
  • The legs. Seven styles on the leg divans — chrome T-legs, beech barrels, square walnut, round beech in two heights. On the other bases, choose gliders (fixed feet — the bed stays put) or castors (wheels — pull it out to make it).
  • The headboard. Ten shapes, from the Donore at €162 €180 to the tall, winged Janus and the hotel-calm Capri. Strutted 24″ ones sit behind the pillows; floor-standing 55″ ones make the bed the centre of the room.
  • The fabric and colour. Base and headboard upholstered to match, from the swatch board in the showroom. This one costs nothing — it just makes the bed yours.

Chapter Five

Build your own — it adds up in front of you

We built a page that does the arithmetic for you. It works the way you’d shop in person:

1

Choose your mattress and size first. The five above, or “I have a mattress” if you only need the bed.

2

Add your own details. Base, legs, headboard, fabric and colour — the running total updates with every choice.

3

Do what suits you. Add the whole bed to your basket, email the build to the showroom, or copy it to your phone and bring it in to talk it through. Most people do the last one — that’s the point.

Nothing is charged until you check out, and nothing is made until we’ve confirmed your order and delivery date with you.

Chapter Six

The small print, made large

The guarantee. Every mattress carries a manufacturer-assured guarantee — up to ten years on the Drift — with the first two years covered free. We rewrote the terms in plain English, including what isn’t a fault. Read it in two minutes.

Delivery. Everything is made to order in Ireland — allow around four weeks — and delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom at no charge. We confirm your date before you pay. Any question at all, contact us at info@mulberryhouse.ie.

The first month. Your mattress arrives factory-fresh and needs time to settle into its new home — and so do you. The first nights feel different, and different can feel strange; that’s your body noticing proper support after years without it. By the end of the first month it stops being the new mattress and starts being your bed.

Where would you like to go?

Choose your best bedtime :

Or skip all of it and come in. The showroom at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig (P31 W968) is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm (closed Sundays) — get directions, or call (021) 601 5002. Any question, any at all: info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
