Mattress Guarantee

Every mattress in the Mulberry House Mattress Collection is guaranteed against manufacturing faults, and the guarantee is assured by the manufacturer. Here is what that means, in plain English. Keep this page with your receipt.

How long the guarantee lasts

Mattress Guarantee
Mulberry Drift 10 years
Mulberry Lull 8 years
Mulberry Cocoon 6 years
Mulberry Pause Stated on your guarantee certificate
Mulberry Estate Stated on your guarantee certificate

The guarantee runs from the date of purchase and applies to the original purchaser. Register your mattress with us within 90 days of purchase — email info@mulberryhouse.ie with your receipt — and we’ll make sure it’s on record with the manufacturer.

What’s covered, and how

In the first two years: a manufacturing fault is repaired or replaced free of charge. Transport is covered in the first year; after the first year, transport costs are met by you.

After two years, for the rest of the guarantee term: a manufacturing fault is repaired or replaced at the manufacturer’s discretion, on a sliding scale in line with the age of the mattress, and a service charge applies.

What isn’t a fault

A handmade mattress settles. The fillings compress a little where you sleep, and that’s normal — it’s the mattress taking your shape, not failing. So the following are not covered as manufacturing faults:

  • Ordinary settlement of the fillings.
  • Body impressions of less than 50mm on the Lull and the Drift, and less than 35mm on the Cocoon. (The threshold for the Pause and the Estate is stated on your guarantee certificate.)
  • Comfort preference. Whether a mattress feels right is personal and can’t be assessed as a fault — which is exactly why we ask you to lie before you buy.
  • A mattress that has been soiled, stained or is in an unsanitary condition.
  • Damage from inappropriate use, misuse, folding or bending, or accidental damage.
  • A mattress used on an unsuitable base — see below.

Keeping the guarantee valid

  • Use a mattress protector from the first night. The guarantee doesn’t cover a soiled or stained mattress, and a protector is the difference.
  • Rotate it. Turn the mattress end to end twice a month for the first two months, then once a quarter. The Drift is double-sided, so flip it as well as rotating it; the Pause, Lull, Cocoon and Estate are non-turn — rotate them, never flip them.
  • Give it a suitable base. A solid divan, or a slatted frame with slats no more than 70mm apart and at least 10mm wide. Wider gaps let the mattress sag between slats and void the guarantee.
  • Keep it flat. Never fold or bend a mattress to get it up the stairs — order the 6′ zip-link if access is tight.

How to make a claim

All claims come through Mulberry House, not the manufacturer. Email info@mulberryhouse.ie with your receipt or invoice and clear photographs of the mattress and the problem, and we take it from there. You’ll be dealing with the people who sold it to you.

Your statutory rights

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish law.
