Who it’s for

This is a main-bedroom chest, and it is tall. At 1040mm the top surface sits above the height of most chests, which is comfortable to stand at and no use at all as a dressing table you sit down to, or as a bedside. It is a full metre wide, so it needs a wall of its own. Inside, the drawers come in two depths, 71mm and 142mm. The shallow ones are genuinely shallow — one layer of folded t-shirts or shirts laid flat, not a stack. The deeper ones take jumpers and folded linen. If what you need is four deep drawers for bulk, this is not the chest; if you like clothes laid flat and visible, it is.

Measure first

Height and weight are the two numbers to take seriously here.

At 460mm deep it goes through a standard doorway, but at a metre wide and 59kg it does not turn easily on a half-landing. Measure the stairs and the turn before you measure the bedroom. In the room, the drawer box is 376mm deep and comes that far into the floor space, so leave that plus room to stand square in front of it.

A 71mm drawer is a thing you have to look into to understand. A photograph flattens it and a measurement does not tell you what it holds — you want to open one, put your hand in it, and decide. Living with it

This is solid timber, and solid timber moves. Through a wet Cork autumn it takes up moisture and swells a fraction; when the heating runs all winter it dries and shrinks back. You may see a hairline gap open in a panel in February and close again in May, and a drawer that ran freely in summer may need a firmer pull in January. None of that is a fault. Keep it away from a radiator, wipe it with a dry cloth, and give the drawers a month of ordinary use before you judge how they run.

Delivery, assembly & aftercare

Allow around four weeks. Delivery across Cork and nationwide, or collect from the showroom at no charge. We confirm the date with you before you pay.

It comes in one box at 59kg gross. That is a two-person lift and a careful one on stairs. There is no assembly note published for this chest — if you need to know exactly what is required once the box is open, email us and we will confirm it before you order.
