Who it’s for

This is a guest room and single room piece more than a main bedroom one. 800mm across is one person’s clothes, and 1300mm of hanging drop takes shirts, jackets, folded trousers and dresses to about the knee — but not a full-length coat, which will fold onto the base. The open front earns its place in a small room: no door front to look at, no swing arc to keep clear, and the eye goes straight through it, so the room feels less boxed in than it would with a closed wardrobe of the same size. The warm brown is the practical part. It forgives dust and everyday marks in a way a pale or painted finish does not, which matters when there is no door in front of anything.

Measure first

Check the room height first, then the route into it. Assembled it stands 1740mm.

Measure the ceiling where it will go, the landing, and the turn at the top of the stairs — that turn catches more furniture than any doorway does. It is built in the room, so keep enough clear floor to assemble it flat and stand it up. There is no door to allow for, so it can go tight against the end of a bed if that is what the room needs.

Walnut brown is the finish people most often misjudge from a screen: warmer in daylight than most photographs suggest, and the grain of mango and mindi varies board to board. On an open wardrobe that matters more than usual, because the timber is the whole of what you look at. The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Living with it

Solid timber moves with the heating season, and this will do the same — a hairline gap at a joint in a dry January, closed again by spring. That is normal and not a fault. The one thing worth planning around is light: a walnut finish shifts tone with daylight over the first year or two, and it does that unevenly if half of it sits in a sunbeam and half in shade, or if something stands on the same spot for a year. Move the odd item around and it stays even. Dust it dry rather than wet, and keep it off a radiator wall if you can choose.

Delivery, assembly & aftercare

Allow around four weeks from when the order goes in. We deliver across Cork and nationwide, or you can collect from the showroom at no charge. Your date is confirmed with you before you pay.

Assembly is required and it arrives as a single box at 29kg gross — light enough for two people to bring up a stairs without drama.

Questions people ask

Will a full-length coat hang in it?
No. There is 1300mm under the rail, so anything longer rests on the base.

How much clothing does it actually hold?
One person’s. The internal opening is 800mm wide.

Does it show dust badly?
Less than a pale or black finish would, but it is still an open wardrobe — dust reaches the clothes as well as the frame.

Is a wall fixing supplied?
No anti-topple kit is listed with this one. Email us before you order if that is a requirement in your room.

Does it need to be built?
Yes, assembly is required, and it comes in one box.

Can it sit under a sloped ceiling?
It stands 1740mm, so measure the low side of the slope, not the high side.
