One long, shallow drawer running almost the full width.
The Wycombe Dressing Table is 1100mm wide, 400mm deep and 800mm high, black, and built from MDF with oak and pine. It belongs to the Wycombe range. The single wide drawer is the thing worth opening before you make up your mind, and the Ballincollig showroom is where to do it. Who it’s for
This is a one-drawer table, and the drawer is unusual: 870mm wide, 305mm front to back and 71mm deep inside. That is a tray more than a box. It suits someone who wants everything laid out flat and visible in one pull — brushes, palettes, a laptop, papers, chargers — rather than someone who wants things stacked and hidden. If you need volume, a chest of drawers is the right piece and this is not. At 400mm deep it holds tight to a wall and works in a small room, and at 1100mm it is the shortest of our dressing tables, which helps on a tight wall. The top is 800mm off the floor, so plan on a taller seat, not a dining chair.
Chosen by Paul
Paul says: “That drawer is 870 wide and 71 deep. Lay things flat in it and it’s the handiest drawer in the house. Stand anything up in it and you’ll be fighting it every morning.”
One wide, shallow drawer beats three deep ones for anybody who loses things at the back.

Measure first
The one to watch is the drawer, not the table.
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Width | 1100 | 110 |
| Depth | 400 | 40 |
| Height | 800 | 80 |
The drawer is 305mm front to back, so it swings that far into the room before your hand is in it. Put it beside a bed and you will be reaching across the corner of the mattress every morning — check that first. The 1100mm width fits between most bedroom obstacles, but measure out from the skirting rather than from the plaster, and check the 800mm top clears a window board or a radiator shelf if it is going under one.
See it before you buy
Black is the finish people most often get wrong from a screen — some blacks read soft and some read hard, and a photograph settles nothing about how an 870mm drawer runs when you open and close it. We are at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork (P31 W968), open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, no appointment needed, and nobody will rush you through it. What we have out changes as the floor is rearranged, so if this table is not among it when you call in, ask for it: it comes up from the store room, or in within a few days. Get directions
Living with it
Two things to expect. Black holds dust and fingerprints in a way light wood does not — a dry microfibre cloth once a week is the whole job, and a wet cloth or a spray polish leaves streaks that will annoy you more than the dust did. And because you build this one yourself from mixed materials, the parts settle at different rates: MDF stays put while oak and pine move a little with the heating season. Go round every fixing about a month after it is built and tighten anything that has come loose. A new drawer runs stiffer than one opened a thousand times, and it frees up on its own. Do not lean on the top.
Delivery, assembly & aftercare
Allow around four weeks. We deliver across Cork and nationwide, or you can collect from the showroom at no charge, and the date is agreed with you before you pay.
Full assembly is required. It arrives flat in one box at 23 kg gross — light enough for one person to shift, easier with two on a stairs. Build it in the room it is going to live in.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
Questions people ask
Will a laptop fit in the drawer?
The drawer is 870 × 305 × 71 mm inside, so a laptop and its charger lie flat with room around them. Measure yours against those numbers.
Is there more than one drawer?
No. One drawer, running almost the full 1100 mm width.
Does it come with a seat or a mirror?
Neither. The table on its own.
What is it made of?
MDF with oak and pine, finished in black.
Could I use it somewhere other than a bedroom?
Yes. 1100 × 400 mm with one full-width drawer makes a good hall console, and it works as a writing table in a small room if you sit on a taller seat.
