Ardella Side Table

Black glass, soft gold, and a shelf for the things you'd rather not see.

At dinner: it's the drinks table beside the sofa for the people who arrived early.
The rest of the time: it's a lamp table with a shelf for the magazines.
When people stay: it slides beside the sofa bed as a bedside, 62cm high, which is about right.

The Ardella is a rectangular side table, 60cm wide, 38cm deep and 62cm high, with a black glass top and a black glass shelf set into an iron base in a soft gold finish. The glass is annealed with a polished edge. At 62cm it's taller than a sofa arm and sized for a lamp, which makes it the right table for a drinks corner that needs lighting as well as a surface.

Is this a coffee table or a side table?

A side table. At 62cm high and 60cm wide it's lamp height, with a lower shelf. It belongs beside a sofa or an armchair, not in front of one.

What kind of glass is it?

Annealed black glass with a polished edge, on the top and the shelf. Treat it as glass: coasters, no dragging heavy things across it.

Is the gold bright?

It's a soft gold finish on the iron base rather than a mirror-bright one.

What assembly is there?

You fit the legs and feet. One box, 16.1kg.

Does the shelf hold much?

It's the full footprint, 60 × 38cm, so a stack of books or a basket sits there without fuss.
