Bardfield Chair Blue

Deep blue on oak legs: the chair that pulls up to the conversation.

Seven people, a sofa for three and two armchairs. The last two to arrive get the Bardfields, carried in from the window and turned to face the fire. By eleven nobody has moved.

The Bardfield is an occasional chair in deep blue polyester fabric with an oak underframe and legs, 64cm wide, 77cm deep and 84cm high, with foam and polyfibre in the seat and a gently curved back. It is narrow enough to carry across a room in one hand and tall enough to sit upright in, which is what you want from the chair that joins the group when the sofa is full.

What is the frame made of?

Oak legs and underframe, with a plywood seat and back frame under the foam and polyfibre padding. The legs are 31cm high, so there is clear floor under the chair.

Will the blue go with a grey sofa?

Deep blue and grey are an easy pair, and the oak legs stop it looking cold. It also sits well with tan leather. Only you can tell for your room, so a cushion brought along to the showroom settles it quickly.

Is it a dining-height seat?

Nearly. The seat is 48cm off the floor, with the arms 64cm apart and a seat depth of 51cm. It is comfortable at a lamp table and can pull up to a lower table, but it is wider than a dining chair.

How much assembly?

The legs only. It arrives in one box, around 17kg, and the legs attach to the seat.

What goes with it

The Bardfield also comes in Vanilla, the same oak frame in a cream fabric. One of each either side of a side table is a way to have the pair without matching.

Allow around four weeks for delivery across Cork and nationwide; collection from the showroom in Ballincollig is at no charge. We'll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
