A swivel in brown leather that turns to face whoever's talking.

The Bristol is a swivel accent chair in brown leather on a bronzed iron base, 70cm wide, 79cm deep and 92.5cm high, with a pinch-pleated back and a padded foam seat on a plywood and pine frame. A chair that turns is the right chair for a room with people in it: it faces the sofa at eight and the fire at ten without anyone lifting it.

Measure first. The base is 25cm off the floor and the chair is 70cm across, but a swivel needs room to turn, so allow a clear 90cm circle around it. Check the doorway on the way in too: the box is 72cm by 79cm by 87cm. If you want the back level with a sofa arm, the seat is 48cm and the back reaches 92.5cm.

Is it real leather?

Yes. The upholstery is leather over foam, on a plywood and pine frame, with an iron swivel base in a bronzed finish.

What is the pleated back?

The back is pinch-pleated, which is the leather gathered into vertical folds. It is the detail that makes it read as a lounge chair rather than a desk chair.

Is the height adjustable?

No. It swivels, but the seat stays at 48cm. The arms are 46cm apart and the seat is 48cm deep.

What assembly is there?

The base attaches to the seat. One box, around 27kg, so two people to carry it in.

What goes with it

There is no sibling in this range, so pair it by material: a lamp table at arm height beside it, and a floor lamp behind, make it a reading corner that turns into a second seat when the room fills.
