A live-edge acacia top on a black U-frame, seating six.
Chisbury is a 2m acacia dining table with a live edge — the natural line of the wood left along the top — set on a black iron U-shaped underframe. It seats six, and you can order it through our Ballincollig showroom, a short drive from Cork city.
The numbers, before anything else
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 2,000 | 200 |
| Width | 1,000 | 100 |
| Height | 770 | 77 |
| Clearance under the top | 710 | 71 |
| Distance between legs | 1,270 | 127 |
Read in a room, those figures say this: 127cm between the frames fits two chairs on each long side with room to spare, and one at each end makes six — that’s how we’d set it. The 1m width is generous, with space down the middle for the pot and the salad bowl. Allowing 90cm behind every chair, the table and chairs want roughly 3.8m by 2.8m of floor.
What it’s made of
- Acacia top with a live edge
- Black iron U-shaped underframe, a frame at each end
- Leg-only assembly; comes in two boxes, about 74kg packed
- Natural acacia that may darken, or warm towards a reddish tone, over time
Where it suits, and where it won’t
It suits a house where everyone eats at the same table: six places, big dishes in the middle, nobody perched on a corner. It suits a kitchen-dining room with a bit of length, where the black frame ties in with other dark metal in the room.
A narrow room — less than about 2.8m across — will feel that 1m depth, and a slimmer table will serve it better. And if you want a crisp, straight-edged rectangle, the live edge won’t suit. For chairs to set at it, have a look through our dining chairs.
Choosing it in person
The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm, closed Sundays. No appointment; nobody will hurry you. Ask what’s set out in the dining area that week; if the Chisbury isn’t among it, we’ll talk you through the live edge and the frame, and order one in for you. Get directions.
Living with acacia
The colour isn’t fixed. Natural acacia may darken or develop a warmer, reddish tone over time — through the wood’s own properties and its surroundings, the light in your room included. Timber also moves a little with the heating, which is normal. No two live edges run quite the same, so yours won’t be a copy of the photo; that’s rather the point.
Delivery
Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
Before you order
Will the colour change?
It may. Acacia can darken or go warmer and more reddish over time. We’d call it the table settling into the house.
Is there knee room with that frame?
Yes: 71cm clear under the top, and the frames sit at the ends, 127cm apart, leaving the long sides open.
How does it arrive?
In two boxes, with nothing to assemble but the legs.
How many does it seat?
Six.
Is it heavy?
About 74kg across its two boxes, so two people for the carry in.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
