Craft Tall Open Display Smoked

Smoked oak shelving, 1.7 metres high and only 31cm deep.

The Craft Tall Open Display in Smoked stands 170cm high on a 90cm by 31cm footprint, one of the Craft oak pieces we supply from Ballincollig. With anything this tall, a few centimetres either way decide whether it goes in.

Exact figures

In a real room: 170cm is about head height for many adults, so the top shelf is for looking at and the middle ones are for reaching. At 31cm deep it stands out from the wall less than a kitchen worktop does. If it’s going upstairs, check the turn on the landing and the ceiling height at the top of the stairs before anything else.

Construction

• Oak and oak-veneered MDF with a smoked finish
• Open shelves; gaps of 34.5cm and 34.7cm
• Stands on legs 17.5cm off the floor
• Anti-topple kit in the box
• Just the legs to fit; about 26kg packed

Where it earns its place

It works beside a dining table as a place to put things down between courses: glasses on one shelf, the cheese board and the bread on another, the good bowl on top. It works in a narrow alcove where a sideboard wouldn’t go.

If you’d rather everything out of sight, open shelving won’t suit you. The Craft Cocktail Cabinet in Smoked has two doors and two drawers in the same finish.

Talk it through

The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Bring your ceiling height and the width of the alcove, and we’ll go through the sizes with you, show you the smoked finish, and order the tall display in if it isn’t on the floor. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays. No appointment needed; nobody will hurry you. Get directions

Once it’s home

Fit the anti-topple kit first. Open shelves show dust sooner than closed ones, and a dry cloth sorts it. Oak moves a little with the heating, so small changes over the first winter are normal.

Getting it there

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay. Republic of Ireland only.

Your questions

Will it get up our stairs?
It is 170cm tall and 90cm wide. Measure the narrowest point and the tightest turn; if in doubt, send us the numbers.

Does it need fixing to the wall?
An anti-topple kit is included for exactly that. It’s worth fitting.

Does it match the Craft sideboard?
It shares the smoked finish with the Craft 4 Door Sideboard in Smoked, which is 75cm high: a tall piece and a low one on the same wall balance each other.

Is there a lighter finish?
Yes, the same unit comes in Natural.

Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
