The desk chair in leather that nobody minds pulling into the room.

The study door is open because the coats are on the bed. Someone counts heads, comes up one short, and goes in for the chair at the desk. It sits at the end of the table and nobody asks where it came from.

The Curie is a swivel chair in full leather hide, antique ebony with a silver aluminium alloy base, 64cm wide, 61.5cm deep and 85.5cm high, with a plywood frame, foam padding and vertical stitching on the back. It is made for a desk, and that is where it will spend most of its time. The point is that it looks like a chair, not office equipment, so when the table is short a seat it can be carried in without apology.

Is the leather real?

Yes, full leather hide, with vertical stitching to the back, over a lightly padded back and sides and a deeper padded seat.

Does the seat go up and down?

No. It swivels but it is not height adjustable. The seat is fixed at 49.5cm, with 44cm between the arms and a 48.5cm seat depth.

What is the base?

A silver-finished aluminium alloy base. There are no castors, so it does not roll, which is why it stays put at a table.

Is 49.5cm too high for dining?

It is a touch higher than most dining chairs, which sit around 45 to 48cm. At a standard table most people will not notice; at a low table they might.

What assembly is there?

The base attaches to the seat. One box, around 16kg.

What goes with it
