A nest earns its keep when the two tables live apart more often than together. Put the larger at the end of the sofa where the lamp is, and keep the smaller nested until the room fills; then it goes to the armchair, the window seat, wherever someone is holding a glass with nowhere to put it.

The Dakota is a nest of two round tables, each a solid mango wood dish top on a black iron base with a brass detail where the legs meet the top. The larger is 55cm across and 52cm high; the smaller, 46cm across and 46.5cm high, tucks underneath. One box, 16.3kg, and only the tops to fit.

Is 52cm high enough beside a sofa?

For most sofas, yes: the top lands around the arm or a little below it, which is where you want a glass. If your sofa arm is very low, the smaller table at 46.5cm may be the one to keep beside it.

What's the top made of?

Solid mango wood, turned into a shallow dish with a natural finish, so there's a lip that stops a glass sliding off. The bases are black iron.

Does the dish shape limit what I can put on it?

A lamp with a flat base sits fine; so do a tray and glasses. Very wide trays will bridge the lip, which is no harm at all.

How much assembly is there?

The tops only. The bases come ready; you fix the dish to each, and you're done.
