Dexter Dog Side Table

A black dog holding the tray, and somebody always asks about it.

The front door goes, coats come off, and the first person into the hall stops. There's a black dog, sitting up, balancing a sheet of glass on his head, with a lamp on it. By the time the second guest is in, the first is already telling them about the dog.

The Dexter is a side table shaped as a seated dog in black resin, 54cm wide, 30cm deep and 67.5cm high, carrying an annealed glass top with a polished edge on an MDF base. It's lamp height, shallow enough for a hall, and the talking point of the evening. When people come over it earns its place twice: once as the table that holds the glasses by the door, and once as the thing everyone mentions.

What is the dog made of?

Resin, finished in black, with a glass top supported on an MDF base. The glass is annealed with a polished edge.

How tall is it?

67.5cm to the top, which is lamp height. It's 54cm wide and 30cm deep, so it sits close to a wall or a sofa side.

Is the glass fixed?

You fit the glass top on delivery. One box, 12.94kg.

Will children knock it over?

It's a side table, not a toy, and at nearly 13kg it's steadier than it looks. Keep it out of the main thoroughfare all the same.

Does it work in a hallway?

Well. 30cm deep is shallow enough for a hall, and it's the piece people stop at on the way in.

What goes with it. Nothing matches a dog. It pairs by contrast: a plain lamp on top, a plain wall behind, and a mirror nearby so he appears twice.
