Curved dark legs and a brown leather cushion top, 36cm high.

“After dinner we all end up on the sofa. Will a footstool just be something else to trip over?” It’s a reasonable worry in a busy sitting room, and one we hear often at our showroom in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.

The Fabien is compact, 50cm by 43cm and 36cm high, and it stands on curved legs 25cm tall, so you see floor underneath it. That keeps it visible on the way past and lighter to look at than a solid block. After a Sunday meal, someone takes the armchair, someone takes the footstool, and the evening moves from the table to the sofa without anyone deciding it should.

Walk past one first

The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm. Ask whether the Fabien is on the floor that week: if it is, put it in front of a sofa and walk past it a few times; if it isn’t, we can go through the size and the leather with you and order one in. Living with leather

New leather and new foam take a few weeks to settle. The top can feel firm to begin with and gives more as it’s used, and the leather will crease a little where feet and hands land; that’s leather doing what it does. Keep it out of strong direct sun if you can.

It’s designed to pair with the matching Fabien lounger, which is sold separately, though it works just as well with a sofa or armchair you already have.

Arrives ready

No assembly: it arrives ready, in one box, about 10.7kg packed. Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Also asked

Is the lounger included?
No, the lounger is sold separately. Ask us about it.

How is it different from the Mineral and Ochre?
Those are upholstered in fabric on gold-toned legs; this one is brown leather on dark legs.

What’s inside?
An iron base and plywood under foam, with leather over the top.

Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
