Geo Dining Table

An oval oak-veneer table, two metres long, with curved ends and no corners.

The Geo is a 200cm oval table in natural oak and white oak veneer, and the curve of its ends is picked up again at the tops of the legs. Two metres leaves room down the middle for the serving dishes, not only the plates, and it’s one of the tables we sell from our showroom in Ballincollig.

How big is it?

Allow about 90cm around it for chairs, and it wants a room of roughly 3.8m by 2.8m.

How many does it seat?

It’s listed to seat four, and we’d rather tell you that than guess. If you’re hoping for six, ask us and we’ll confirm it before you order.

What’s it made of?

MDF with oak veneer and white oak veneer, in a natural matt finish.

Why an oval?

No corners to walk into on the way past, and everyone can see everyone else. On a long rectangle, the people at the far ends drift into separate conversations; an oval pulls them in a little.

Is there room for knees?

There’s 70cm of clear height under the top, and 116.5cm between the legs along each long side.

Does it arrive in one piece?

In two boxes, 64.5kg between them. Only the legs need fitting.

How do I look after a matt veneer?

Heat and standing water are what veneer dislikes, so mats and coasters do most of the work; wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it off. Veneer is real wood, so it moves a little with the heating; keep the table back from radiators and out of strong direct sun.

Is there one I can look at?

There are usually several dining tables set out in the showroom to try for height and feel. Ask about the Geo and we’ll be straight with you about whether it’s one of them that week. Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide in the Republic of Ireland, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
