Hatfield Coffee Table Natural

An oval in pale oak that the room can walk around.

Paul's pro tip

In a narrow sitting room an oval does what a rectangle can't. You get the length in front of the sofa for glasses and a board, but the rounded ends give back the corners where people walk past. Keep about 45cm between the sofa and the table, and the room will feel bigger than it did before.

The Hatfield is an oval coffee table in natural oak, 100cm long, 50cm wide and 35cm high, made from oak and oak veneer over MDF with rubberwood, on tapered oak-veneer legs. The shape is soft and organic, with a light Scandi feel, and it's 9kg packed, so it's easy to move when the furniture gets shuffled for a crowd.

Is it light enough to move?

Yes. It's 9kg packed, so one person can lift it to the side when you want the floor space.

Is there a darker version?

The same oval comes in smoked oak. Natural is lighter and brighter; smoked is warmer and deeper.

What assembly does it need?

Only the legs. It's one box.

Is 35cm a sensible height?

It's a low, relaxed height, a little below most sofa seats. Easy to reach a glass; low if you like eating from it.
