A 150cm natural oak table that seats six without swallowing the room.
The Hatfield Dining Table is 150cm by 80cm, with gently rounded corners and a natural oak veneer finish. In a smaller Cork home, where the table is also the desk, the ironing board and the place the post lands, the size decides everything.
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 1,500 | 150 |
| Width | 800 | 80 |
| Height | 750 | 75 |
| Between the legs, long side | 1,166 | 116.6 |
Six people means two along each side and one at each end, with 75cm of edge per person along the sides, a little more than the 60cm most people need. Add 90cm behind every chair and the table wants a clear space of about 330cm by 260cm; with one long side pushed to the wall, about 170cm across is enough.
Materials and build
- Oak veneer over MDF, with oak and rubberwood
- Natural oak finish
- Rectangular top with gently rounded corners
- Legs to fit; one box, 25kg
Where it fits, and where it won’t
It suits a kitchen-diner, a dining room of 3.3m or so, or an apartment living room where the table sits against a wall during the week and comes out when visitors do. The rounded corners are easier to squeeze past in a tight room.
Eight is too many for it, and if eight is a regular thing, a longer table is the better buy. If your room is under 3m long, the Hatfield Round (110cm, seats four) or the Hatfield Small (80cm by 90cm, seats three) will give you back some floor.
Check the room, then call in
Measure from where the table would stand to the nearest wall or cupboard on every side; if there’s 90cm or more, a chair can come out. Then call in with the figures; much of our dining furniture is set out in the showroom, and whether or not the Hatfield is there that week, we can work out the fit with you. The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, about 10 minutes from Cork city. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays. No appointment, and nobody will hurry you. Get directions
Looking after it
Veneer is a thin layer of real oak, and it likes the same care as solid wood: mats for hot dishes, coasters for glasses, a wipe with a damp cloth and a dry finish. It will move a little as the heating comes on in autumn; that’s normal, and keeping it clear of radiators helps.
Timing and delivery
Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide in the Republic of Ireland, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
