Low enough to serve from, in smoked oak, with open shelves.
In a lot of homes the kitchen is the room that fills up first, whatever the other rooms were built for, and it needs somewhere for the things that aren’t in use this minute. The Hatfield Low Open Display in smoked oak is that place: open shelves, 150cm long and 70cm high, and it’s sold online and through our showroom in Ballincollig.
What are its measurements?
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Width | 1,500 | 150 |
| Depth | 380 | 38 |
| Height | 700 | 70 |
| Clearance under the unit | 97 | 9.7 |
| Shelf length, inside | 1,180 | 118 |
| Shelf depth, inside | 300 | 30 |
| Space between shelves | 272 | 27.2 |
What will the shelves hold?
Each shelf gives about 118cm by 30cm, with 27.2cm of height. That’s the tea caddies, a row of cookbooks, the big salad bowl and the good tablecloth that only comes out when people visit.
Can the shelves be moved?
No, they’re fixed.
Does it work in a kitchen rather than a dining room?
Very well. At 38cm deep it runs along a wall without narrowing the room much, and at 70cm it sits lower than a 90cm worktop, which makes the top a natural landing spot for a tray or a bottle.
What’s it made from?
Oak veneer, oak, MDF and rubberwood, in a smoked oak finish, on oak-veneer legs with 9.7cm clear underneath.
Is it safe with small children about?
An anti-topple kit comes with it. Fix the unit to the wall first, then load the shelves; that’s what the kit is for.
Is there much assembly?
Yes, it needs full assembly. One box, 28kg.
Can I see both finishes?
Yes: ask in the showroom and we’ll show you the natural and smoked finishes so you can compare them. The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, about 10 minutes from Cork city. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays. No appointment, and nobody will hurry you. Get directions
When would it arrive?
Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide in the Republic of Ireland, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
