Two Hawking dining chairs in charcoal, sold together; the measurements are for one. Kitchen tables get more use than dining rooms ever do, and the questions people bring to our Ballincollig showroom about a kitchen chair are practical ones. Here they are, answered for the Hawking.

Why charcoal, in a kitchen?

It’s a dark neutral that doesn’t argue with grey units, white walls or a timber floor. If your kitchen already has plenty going on, charcoal chairs let the table be the thing people notice, which is usually the food.

What are the measurements?

A 46.5cm seat at a 75cm table is the standard pairing. Give each person about 60cm of table edge and you’ll know how many of these your table can take.

What will it feel like to sit on for an evening?

The seat is foam over plywood, covered in charcoal PU, on a metal frame with a curved shape. Whether it suits a long sit is personal. Five minutes on a few of our dining chairs in the showroom will tell you what you like, and we’ll say plainly how the Hawking compares.

Why do they come in twos?

That’s how the Hawking is sold: two chairs packed together, legs to attach. For a table of six, three pairs.

Is there a stool to match for the counter?

Yes. The Hawking stool comes in charcoal too, with a 65cm seat for a standard kitchen counter, so the island and the table can share one look.

Which tables work with them?

Anything at a normal 70–75cm dining height. Our dining tables list the heights, so you can check before you pair them.

Allow around four weeks. We deliver across Cork and nationwide, or you can collect from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
