Highclere 3 Floor Lamp Chrome and Natural

Natural linen outside, brushed metallic inside, three candles' worth of glow.

The Highclere 3 is a three-light floor lamp in brushed chrome steel with a natural linen shade lined in a reflective brushed metallic finish, 47cm across and 160cm tall. It takes three E14 candle bulbs and switches on a foot switch on the cable. The lined shade bounces the light back out warmer than plain linen does, which is the trick: when people come over it gives a sitting room a glow from one corner without anything harsh.

Measure first. The shade is 47cm across, so the lamp wants around 25cm clear on each side of its stem; check the gap between the sofa arm and the wall before it arrives. At 160cm the top of the shade sits just above eye level for a standing adult, which keeps the bulbs hidden when you are seated.

No. The inline foot switch is on or off. Three small LED candles at a lower wattage will give a softer light if that is what you want.

Is the inside of the shade really metallic?

Yes, a brushed metallic lining, which is what makes the light warmer and brighter than the linen outside suggests.

What goes with it

There is no other Highclere piece in this range. A chrome or glass side table beside it keeps the metals together.
