Highgate Side Table

Antiqued glass on a gold frame, and the lamp has somewhere to stand.

Honestly: if you'd like a clear glass top you can see the floor through, this isn't it. The Highgate's glass is antiqued in a bronze effect, and that warmth is the reason to choose it.

The Highgate is a round side table, 40cm across and 60cm high, with a gold metal frame and an antiqued glass top in a bronze-effect finish. It's lamp height. When people come over it's the table in the corner with the light on it, the glass sitting beside the lamp, the whole thing weighing 5.35kg so it can be moved to where the conversation has gone.

What is 'antique glass'?

A glass top with an antiqued, bronze-effect finish, so it has depth and a warm tone rather than being clear.

How much does it weigh?

5.35kg. Light enough to carry to whoever needs a surface.

Is 60cm a sofa-arm height?

No. It stands above a sofa arm and suits a lamp or a drink beside an armchair.

Does it need assembly?

No, it arrives in one box ready to use.

Will the gold match the Canterbury?

They're from the same group, with a gold frame on each. The Canterbury has a mirror top; this one has antiqued glass.

What goes with it. The Canterbury, a gold octagonal frame with a mirror top, and the Southgate, a bronze caged frame with tinted glass. Two of the three in one room is a pairing that works.

Antiqued glass is one of those finishes that needs the light of a room, and the glass-topped tables are together in the showroom at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays; no appointment. Get directions.
