Hinton Dining Chair Moss Green (Set of 2)

Moss green fabric on oak legs, for a kitchen table in constant use.

A pair of Hinton dining chairs in moss green fabric, on solid oak legs, delivered ready to use. Fabric at a kitchen table has real upsides and one catch, both worth weighing before you come to our Ballincollig showroom. The figures below are for one chair.

In practice: the seat is 44cm deep and 45.5cm wide, which is a proper seat rather than a perch, and at 49cm high it suits a standard 75cm table. Allow 90cm behind each chair to pull it back when someone gets up for the salt.

What goes into a Hinton

• Legs of solid oak, 38.5cm tall
• Moss green polyester fabric on seat and back
• Foam and polyfibre padding over a plywood frame
• Nothing to assemble

Where fabric works, and where it asks more of you

Fabric is warm to sit on first thing on a cold morning, and it looks softer against a timber table than a wipe-clean cover does. At a table that’s in use from breakfast on, that counts for a lot.

The catch: if spilled yoghurt and small hands are part of every morning, a fabric seat means quick blotting rather than a wipe. The Hinks chairs, in faux leather, may suit that stage of life better.

Living with it

Moss green is a colour that changes with the light, darker in the evening, brighter by a window. The padding will give a little over the first weeks as it settles, and solid oak reacts a little to the heating going on and off. That’s all ordinary new-furniture behaviour.

Arriving at yours

Allow around four weeks. We deliver across Cork and nationwide, or you can collect from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Questions about the Hinton

How heavy is the box?
About 16kg for the pair.

Can I mix moss green with brown?
Yes. The Hinton comes in brown too, so two of each around one table keeps the shape and varies the colour.

Is the fabric velvet?
It’s listed as polyester fabric.

Is there a matching table?
Browse our dining tables for a 70–75cm height.
