Paul's pro tip: a table this solid wants to be seen from the side, not buried. Leave a hand's width between it and the sofa arm so the curve of the legs shows, and put a lamp with a slim base on it; the wood is the thick part and the lamp should not be.

The Hoffman is a side table in solid mango wood, 64cm wide, 53cm deep and 53cm high, with chunky legs and a thick top softened by flowing curves. The natural finish shows the grain. It's big for a side table, which is useful when people come over: beside the sofa it takes a lamp and three glasses, and against the dining room wall it's the overflow for bottles and the dessert plates.

Solid mango wood throughout, in a natural finish that shows the grain. It weighs 24.25kg.

Is 53cm the right height beside a sofa?

Slightly above most sofa arms. Good for a lamp and a glass; if you want the top flush with the arm, something around 45cm will suit better.

What assembly is there?

The legs and feet. One box.

Is there a matching coffee table?

Yes, and a console, both in the same chunky, curved mango wood.

Will it go beside a dining table?

At 64 × 53cm it's a generous top, so beside the dining room wall it takes the bottles and the extra glasses when the table is full.
