A tall, narrow sideboard for a home that hasn’t room to spare.

In a one-bedroom flat in Cork city, the table is also where the post goes, where the keys and bike lights land, and on a Sunday, where dinner for four happens. When the food comes out, everything else needs somewhere to go, fast. A sideboard that stands tall instead of long gives it a home without eating the floor.

The Holsen two-door sideboard is 120cm wide, 42cm deep and 97cm high. The doors are slatted in solid oak, the body is oak veneer, and the whole thing is finished in matt black that lets the grain show through, on matt black metal legs with matt black solid oak handles. At 97cm, the top sits a little above kitchen-worktop height, so it doubles as a serving counter in a small room. Check it clears any window sill or radiator you plan to put it near.

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Short answers

Does the black hide the wood?
No. It’s a matt finish over oak and oak veneer, and the grain shows through.

Will it go up the stairs to a flat?
It arrives flat-packed in one box, which is far easier on a stairs than a built unit.

Should I fix it to the wall?
It’s worth fixing to the wall, and the anti-topple kit is in the box.
