You get two chairs in the box, each upholstered in green on solid oak legs, and the figures below are for one. If you’re weighing up whether they suit your table, our Ballincollig showroom is a good place to bring the question.

Each chair, measured

A 47.5cm seat under a 75cm table leaves about 27.5cm, the usual comfortable gap. At 51.5cm wide, three fit along a 180cm table edge with a little air between them. With 63.5cm of depth and around 90cm to pull out, allow up to 1.5m from the table edge to the wall.

Where green works

With dishes going hand to hand across the table and the lamps on, green is a colour that holds its own against oak, walnut or a whitewashed top, and against white walls it’s the thing you notice. Where they don’t work: if you want a chair you can wipe down after small children every night, fabric is more effort than timber. The Kelvedon also comes in taupe and in a natural boucle.

We can show you the Kelvedon colours and talk through the sizes in the showroom; email before you make the trip and we’ll tell you whether the green is out that week. Living with them

Upholstery settles: the seat gives a little over the first weeks and the fabric relaxes. Blot spills rather than rubbing them, and ask us about cleaning before trying any product on the fabric.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Are the legs solid oak? Yes, solid oak.

How many sets for a six-seater? Three sets: six chairs.

Do they arrive assembled? We’ll confirm how they arrive, and whether the legs go on at home, before you pay.

Will they go under the table? The seat will; the back, at 84.5cm, stands above a 75cm tabletop.
