A tall, shallow cupboard with cane in the doors and adjustable shelves.

“At 160cm tall, will it loom over the room?” It’s a question we hear at our Ballincollig showroom about any tall cupboard, and the answer is in the depth. The Kyoto 2 Door Cupboard is 160cm high and 107cm wide but only 37cm deep, so it stands close to the wall rather than out into the room. Handwoven cane fills the top section of each door, which keeps it from reading as a solid block, and it’s supplied with a kit to anchor it to the wall.

For a family that sits down together every week, it’s the cupboard that holds the whole dinner: the stacked plates, the glasses, the tablecloth that only comes out on a Sunday.

It arrives assembled, in one box, 72.5kg packed, so the route in matters as much as the wall it’s going on. Measure doorways, the turn at the bottom of the stairs and any landing it has to pass. Check your skirting too: a deep skirting board holds a 37cm cupboard away from the wall.

Cane is worth a close look. We can show you the Kyoto finish and talk through the sizes in the showroom, and if the cupboard isn’t out that week, we’ll order it in for you. What to expect once it’s home

Cane and timber both move a little with the heating: the cane can tighten or relax slightly across the year, and new doors can feel stiff for the first few weeks. That’s normal and settles. The finish is lightly weathered by design, and colour can vary between pieces, so yours won’t exactly match the photo or the one beside it. Fit the anti-topple kit on day one.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Questions

What fits on the shelves? There are four adjustable shelves, set 44.7cm apart as standard: stacked plates, tall glasses, bottles standing up, a cake tin or two.
