Two stools in brown faux leather, one box, and the sizes below are for one. In a small kitchen in Cork, the height and depth of a stool decide more than its looks.

What the tape measure says

A 65cm seat suits a standard kitchen counter of about 90cm, leaving around 25cm between seat and worktop. The back reaches a full metre, so on a 90cm counter the stools stand above the worktop rather than tucking away under it. Plan for the stool’s depth in front of the counter, and a little more to get on and off.

Good fit, poor fit

Good fit: a galley kitchen or open-plan room where the counter is also breakfast bar, bill-paying desk and the place someone sits while you cook. A faux leather seat takes a wipe, which matters when a stool is in use from morning to night.

Poor fit: a bar-height counter of 100cm or more, where a 65cm seat leaves you low. Or a very narrow gap between counter and wall, where a backed stool that can’t tuck away becomes the thing everyone squeezes past.

Day to day

Faux leather feels firm when new and relaxes as it’s sat on; fine creasing across the seat is part of that. A soft, barely damp cloth is usually enough to keep it clean. Felt pads under the iron legs will spare a timber or tiled floor.

Getting them to you

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Questions about the brown pair

Is it real leather?
No. It’s PU, a faux leather.

Will they fit under my counter?
Not fully: the back is a metre tall, so on a 90cm counter it stands above the worktop. Check your counter’s overhang too.

Are there matching chairs?

Do they come assembled?
The legs need fitting; everything else is done.
