“Light grey, with children at the table: am I asking for trouble?” It’s the fair question about these chairs, and it deserves a plain answer from us in Ballincollig. Two Manford chairs come in the box; the sizes further down are for one.

The seat fabric is polyester, and light grey shows less than cream or white. It will still show a spill left to sit, as any pale fabric does. If the table is in use from breakfast until late, blotting spills when they happen gives the chairs a fair chance. If it sees small children and spaghetti most nights, the brown faux leather Manford may be the calmer choice.

At 48.5cm wide and 61.5cm deep they sit neatly at a kitchen table. Leave room behind each one so it can be pushed back when someone gets up for the milk; 90cm is comfortable. The 51cm seat pairs with a table of 75–76cm.

The showroom at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968 has much of our dining furniture set out, though it changes week to week. Ask about the Manford: we can show you the fabric colours in daylight, and if the chairs aren’t there that week, we’ll talk you through them and order them in. The first months

Upholstered seats settle: the foam softens slightly and the fabric relaxes over the first weeks. That’s normal, not sagging. Iron legs can mark a soft floor if they’re dragged, so fit felt pads from the start.

Delivery to your door

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collect it from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge; either way, we’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Light grey questions

Could one go at a desk?
Yes. The Manford is shaped for a dining room or a home office, so one of the pair can work at a desk.

Is it two chairs?
Two, in one box, about 13.5kg packed. The legs are the only assembly.

Do the covers come off?
No removable covers are listed, so treat the seat as fixed upholstery.
