Menzies Coffee Table

Caged gun-metal and a weathered tray top for the loft-style sitting room.

Paul's pro tip: In a room with exposed brick, leather or dark painted walls, a caged frame like this keeps the floor visible underneath, so a small room doesn't feel crowded when everyone's in. Put the tray top to work: the bottles in the middle, the glasses at the corners, and the bowls of crisps within reach of the sofa.

The Menzies is an 80cm round coffee table, 45cm high, with a caged gun-metal frame and base and a tray-shaped top in a weathered natural finish. It's made from MDF and metal, about 10.4kg, and easy to shift when the room is rearranged for company.

What is the top made of?

MDF and metal, finished to a weathered natural look, with the frame in gun-metal grey.

How does 45cm sit beside a sofa?

It sits close to the height of many sofa seats, so a glass is easy to reach without leaning far.

Is it heavy?

No, about 10.4kg. One person can move it.

Will it suit a traditional room?

It leans casual and industrial. In a traditional room it can work as the one relaxed piece; only you can tell if that's what you're after.
