“It’s 163 kilos. How does it even get into the kitchen, and who puts it together?”

Good question, and here’s the plain answer from our Ballincollig showroom, near Cork. That’s the weight as packed, and it comes in three boxes, so no one lifts 163kg in one go; it still wants two people and a clear route from the door. It needs full assembly once it’s in the room. We’ll confirm how the assembly is done, along with your delivery date, before you pay. Once it’s built, it stays put, which in a kitchen where people lean on the table all evening is no bad thing.

Room check

It seats six. At 90cm wide it suits a kitchen where a metre-wide table would block the route between the fridge and the back door. Leave about 90cm behind each chair for getting up and sitting down.

See the finish up close

Travertine is the name of the finish, not the material: the table is glass reinforced concrete with a warm, stone-like look. Photographs flatten it. What to expect at home

Look closely and you’ll see a fine texture and small natural pits in the surface. That’s what the material does, and it’s part of why no two are identical; it isn’t wear. Kitchen life is kitchen life: put a board under the hot roasting tin, wipe spills when they happen, and it keeps its character.

The practical bit

Allow around four weeks. We deliver across Cork and nationwide in the Republic of Ireland, or you can collect from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Things to know

Is it stone?
No. It’s GRC, glass reinforced concrete, finished to look like travertine.

Will my chairs fit under?
There’s 700mm from the floor to the underside of the top, which suits most dining chairs; if yours have arms, bring their height with you.

Travertine or Linen?
Travertine is warmer and more stone-coloured; Linen is paler. The Travertine stands 760mm high, 10mm taller than the Linen.
