Riley Side Table Gold

Fine brass wire under white marble, beside the chair that gets the lamp.

Paul's pro tip: a wire base disappears against a busy background, so give it a plain one. Put the Riley against a painted wall rather than a bookcase, and the marble will seem to float. A lamp with a slim stem keeps the lightness going.

The Riley in Gold is a round side table, 38cm across and 51cm high, with a fine wire iron base in brushed brass and a white Baswara marble top. It's the smallest marble top on this page, and the lightest-looking. The height is a little above a sofa arm, so beside an armchair with a lamp and a glass is where it earns its place when people come over.

What is the base like?

A fine wire frame in iron, finished in brushed brass. The top is white Baswara marble.

How high is it against a sofa?

51cm, a touch above most sofa arms. It takes a glass or a small lamp beside an armchair.

Is it stable with a wire base?

Yes. The marble top is the weight, 15.6kg in total, and it sits firmly.

What assembly is there?

The marble top only. One box.

Does it come in black?

Yes, the Riley is also made with a black base, and there's a matching coffee table in both.

A wire base and white marble look very different in daylight than under a lamp, and the Riley can be seen under both in the showroom at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays; no appointment. Get directions.
