Warm brass, two dimmers, and no need for the big light all evening.

The last of the plates have gone to the kitchen and everyone has drifted to the soft seats. The ceiling light went off an hour ago. What is left is the Rome in the corner: the uplighter at half, the reading arm turned towards the armchair, and the brass picking up the candle on the table.

The Rome in satin brass is a two-light floor lamp in steel with opal glass, 180cm tall on a double stand 50.5cm across. An uplighter sits at the top and an adjustable branch carries a reading lamp; each has its own rotary dimmer. Satin brass is the softer, brushed version of brass, quieter than antique and warmer than chrome.

What bulbs do I need?

A 230W R7s linear bulb (117mm) for the uplighter and a 33W G9 capsule for the reading arm, or LED equivalents. Not included.

Is satin brass the same as antique brass?

No. Satin is brushed and even; the antique brass Rome is darker and more aged-looking.

Will it go with oak?

Satin brass and oak are a natural pair; the warmth matches.
