A 150cm console with a shelf is a sideboard that doesn't block the room. Put it on the dining room wall and it becomes the serving table on the night: plates on top, bottles on the shelf, napkins and the spare cutlery in the drawers. Keep 45cm of depth in mind when you measure; it's deeper than a hall console and wants a room to go with it.

The Rustique is a two-drawer console from a collection in mindi and mahogany solids with a parquet-style inlaid design on the top and drawer fronts, lightly brushed to recreate the look of age. It's 150cm wide, 45cm deep and 80cm high, with turned spindle legs and a lower shelf, and weighs 45kg. The finish is natural, and the parquet pattern gives it the look of a piece that has been in the family a while.

What timber is it?

Solid mahogany and solid mindi, with particle board, MDF and LVL in the construction. The parquet pattern on top is the inlaid timber.

Is the brushed finish rough?

Lightly brushed, so the grain is raised a touch under the hand. It's meant to feel aged rather than coarse.

What goes on the shelf?

A full-width shelf at the bottom, between the spindle legs: baskets, books, and on the night the bottles and the water jugs.

What's the assembly?

Legs and feet only, with the anti-topple kit included. 45kg, so two people to bring it in.
