Low, long mango wood with geometric doors that open at a push.
The Sharma 4 Door Sideboard is 1.8 metres of solid mango wood, stained to show the grain, with a geometric relief carved into each door. It’s built long and low, which is why people in Cork keep putting it in the kitchen rather than the dining room, and the measurements explain it.
How long, how low
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Width | 1,800 | 180 |
| Depth | 400 | 40 |
| Height | 700 | 70 |
At 70cm it sits below a standard kitchen counter (around 90cm) and a touch under dining-table height, low enough to run under most windows. At 40cm deep it steps less than half a metre into the room. Inside, each cupboard section measures 44cm wide, 35cm deep and 40.5cm high, with a fixed shelf spacing of 20cm.
Materials and build
- Solid mango wood with iron
- A stained brown finish that lets the grain through, with a slight charcoal tone
- Four doors with a geometric relief pattern and push-catch opening, so there are no handles
- Shelves inside, spaced 20cm apart
- Shaped legs, fitted on arrival; everything else comes built. One box, about 70kg
Where it works, and where it doesn’t
It works along the wall of a kitchen-diner, where the kitchen is the room people actually live in and the dining room is for twice a year. The top becomes the place for the fruit bowl, the post and the radio; behind the doors go the cereal, the table linen and the dinner plates. A low piece keeps the room feeling open.
The one thing it doesn’t have is drawers: it’s cupboards only, so the cutlery needs a home elsewhere. Browse our dining collection for a sideboard with drawers.

Day to day
Stained mango wood shows its grain and, like any solid timber, it can move very slightly with the heating in the first winter. Keep it a little away from a radiator if you can, and use a mat under anything hot or wet on the top. Push-catch doors take a firm, flat press near the edge; you’ll have the knack by the second day.
Delivery
Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
What people ask about the Sharma
Is it brown or grey?
Brown, with a slight charcoal tone to the stain. It’s worth seeing next to your own floor.
Are there handles?
No. The doors open with a push.
Can I move the shelves?
No, they’re fixed, with 20cm between them.
How much assembly?
Only the legs.
Is it tall enough to serve from?
At 70cm it’s lower than a counter, so it’s more a place to put things down than to carve at.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
