A grey boucle chair to stay in after the dishes are cleared.

Some chairs are for eating and getting up. The Sloane in grey boucle is for staying: a curved back, a seat 49cm deep, and soft looped boucle over a maple frame. It’s part of our Sloane range of dining chairs, and it suits almost any table and floor because the grey keeps quiet. Our showroom is in Ballincollig, just west of Cork city.

When lunch becomes the evening

It starts as long lunches do, with a plan to be finished by three. Then the coffee comes, then someone opens another bottle, then the lamps go on and nobody has moved. The chairs you choose decide how that afternoon feels. A deep seat and a curved back mean you can sit back, sit sideways, tuck a foot under, and nobody is shifting in their seat by six o’clock.

Grey is the calm choice for a whole set: it lets a patterned rug, a strong wall colour or a dark table lead, and it sits happily with oak, walnut, painted or glass tops.

The numbers

A full set of Sloanes needs a table with room to spare. At 64cm wide each, six chairs are comfortable at a rectangular table of around 180–200cm with one at each end. The chair is 60cm deep, so allow roughly 90cm between the table edge and the wall for someone to pull out and sit down.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Will grey boucle show marks?
Less than a pale fabric. Crumbs settle into the loops, and a soft brush takes them out.

Is this one chair or a set?
A single chair, so you can buy exactly the number you have room for.

How many round a 180cm table?
Six, with one at each end, is comfortable at 64cm a chair.
