The Tindon Footstool in vintage brown takes up less floor than a dining chair and does more than one thing: footrest, spare seat, somewhere to leave a book. In a small Cork living room, that counts for a lot.

Sizes

Its 36cm height suits most armchairs and sofas as a footrest and gives a low perch when there’s a visitor too many. The 10cm legs keep it off the floor, so it looks lighter than a solid pouffe.

Good spots, and one it isn’t for

It suits the corner beside an armchair, in front of a small sofa, or at the foot of a bed. Anywhere a larger ottoman would crowd the room.

Honestly: it isn’t a coffee table. The cushion is deep and soft, so a tray won’t sit level on it. If you’d like one piece to do both jobs, look for a firmer, flatter top in our living room collection.

New upholstery, settling in

The deep cushion softens a little over the first weeks as the foam and fibre find their shape; that’s normal, not a fault. A barely damp cloth deals with most marks, and anything stronger is worth testing on the underside first.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Is it heavy?
About 7kg, easily moved with one hand.

Does it need putting together?
No.

Is it the same base as the fabric ones?
The natural fabric Tindon shares this solid oak base; the Alaska Graphite and Khaki are on ash.

Will it take a person as well as feet?
Yes, as a low seat of 36cm.
