Oak-effect base, natural linen shade, a gentle light beside the chair.

Honestly: this is a soft, shaded light for sitting under, not a task lamp. If you want a beam on the page, look at the Hackney; if you want a lamp that disappears into a calm room, keep reading.

The Abia is a floor lamp with a natural oak-effect resin base, a steel stem and a natural linen shade, 42cm across and 158.5cm tall. It takes one E27 LED bulb, switched on the cable. It is the lamp for the corner where the armchair is, so that when people come over and the ceiling light goes off, there is a warm pool of light at sitting height.

Is the bulb included?

No. It takes one 10W LED E27 bulb, which you choose; a warm 2700K bulb suits the linen shade.

Does it need assembly?

It arrives in two boxes, base and shade separately, and goes together without tools.

Is it dimmable?

No. The inline switch is on or off.

What colour is the base?

A natural oak effect in poly resin, so it sits with oak and light timber furniture without matching it exactly.

What goes with it

There is no other Abia piece in this range. A low lamp table in oak beside it, and a chair deep enough to sink into, is all it asks for.

Linen shades and oak-effect finishes are best judged in daylight and lamplight both; the lighting range is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays; no appointment. Get directions.

Delivery takes around four weeks. We deliver across Cork and nationwide, or you can collect from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge; either way, we’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.

The chair, the shade, the light at the right height, and the room settled.
