“Is a bench one more thing to walk round in a small kitchen?” Fair worry. The Eton Rope Bench, which you can ask about at our showroom in Ballincollig, answers it with its size: 110cm long, 43.5cm deep and 45cm high, with no back. It seats two, and between meals it sits against a wall or in along the table, taking up no more floor than its own footprint.
In a smaller home, that’s the case for a bench: two places with no chair backs breaking up the room, and a seat in the hall for pulling boots on when it isn’t needed at the table.

What rope feels like
Rope feels different from timber or upholstery: a little give, a little texture. If you’ve never sat on a woven seat, call to Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. After a few months
Hand-woven rope can relax slightly as it’s sat on over the first months. That’s normal; it’s the weave settling. Because it’s made by hand, the colour of the rope may differ a touch from the photographs. Oak also moves a little as the heating goes on and off, and a hairline change at a joint in the first months is timber settling, not a fault.
Arriving
No assembly: it arrives in one box, about 13kg packed. Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Does it seat two adults?
Yes, it’s listed for two, with about 55cm each.
Where else can it go?
At the end of a bed, in a hall or under a window as well as at a table. A bench this size can move rooms as the house changes around it.
