Lunch was meant to be over by three. At half four someone gets up, takes the cards down from the middle shelf and deals a hand where the plates were. At six the wine glasses come down for whatever’s left in the bottle, and by the time anyone thinks of leaving, it’s dark outside and the lamp is on.

This is the taller of the two Hatfield open displays, sold from our Ballincollig showroom, in the darker smoked oak finish: 157cm high, 90cm wide and 38cm deep, on oak-veneered legs, with open shelves and nothing behind doors.

Height, width, depth

Measure first: a tall unit near a door can clash with the handle, and near a window with the curtains. Hold the tape against the wall at 157cm and look at what it covers.

Judging a dark finish

Dark finishes change more than light ones between a screen and a room. When you call in, we’ll show you the smoked finish under proper light before you order. Lead time

Delivered across Cork and nationwide in the Republic of Ireland, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. Allow around four weeks, and we’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Questions

Will it look right next to a natural oak table?
It can. A darker tall piece against a lighter table reads as a choice rather than a mismatch, and we can show you both finishes if you’d like to compare them.

Will it go up our stairs?
It arrives as parts in one box and is assembled in the room, which helps on a tight landing.

Are the shelves adjustable?
No, they’re fixed.
