Two charcoal stools, built for a counter of around 90cm.
This is a pair of Hawking stools in charcoal; the sizes below are for one stool. Charcoal is the quietest of the Hawking colours: it sits beside a grey worktop or a white one without asking to be looked at. We can talk you through all four colours in our Ballincollig showroom.
- Sold as two, packed together in one box.
- Seat 65cm off the floor: kitchen-counter height, not bar height.
- Charcoal PU cover over foam, on a plywood seat base and a metal frame.
- The legs go on at home; nothing else to build.
- The same curved design comes as a dining chair in charcoal.

Each stool is 48cm wide, so give the pair about 120cm of counter and nobody’s knocking elbows over the toast. At a counter of around 90cm, the 65cm seat leaves the usual 25cm or so of knee room.
Come in and try a few of our stools against a counter to get the height right: Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm (closed Sundays, no appointment needed). Get directions. Allow around four weeks for delivery across Cork and nationwide, or collect from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge; we’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.
Will they tuck right under the counter?
Probably not all the way. The back stands 97cm tall, a little above a 90cm worktop, so they’ll sit neatly against the counter rather than disappear beneath it.
Can I mix charcoal with another colour?
You can. They’re sold in pairs of one colour, and two charcoal beside two of another Hawking colour works if you want a bit of change along the island.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
Charcoal, quiet, and the right height.
