Honestly: a mirrored shelf shows everything you put on it twice, and everything you spill on it once. If you want a table that forgives a dropped coaster and a muddy paw, a wood top will serve you better. If you want the evening to look like it is happening twice, with the candle and the bottle reflected from underneath, this is the one.

The Hudson is a round side table 50.8cm across and 58.4cm high with a glass top and a bevelled mirror shelf below, on a metal frame in an aged bronze finish with MDF in the build. It is flat-packed in one box, full assembly, and weighs 10.5kg built. At 58cm it sits above most sofa arms and at a comfortable height for a lamp, which the mirror shelf then throws back up at the room. When people come over it is the table for the candle, the decanter and the second bottle on the shelf.

What does aged bronze look like?

A dark warm metal with a softened surface rather than a bright one, closer to an old lamp base than to polished brass.

Is the mirror shelf fragile?

It is a bevelled mirror panel held in the frame. Treat it like any mirror: it takes bottles and books, not a dropped weight.

How much assembly?

Full assembly: frame, mirror shelf and glass top. Work on a soft surface so the glass is not scratched.

Will bronze go with brass lamps?

Yes. Aged bronze and brass are both warm metals, and mixed warm metals look intended; it is mixing warm with chrome that fights.
